The Association of Korean American Medical Graduates (AKAM) consists of over 150 medical doctors providing primary to tertiary care in the North Eastern part of the USA. AKAM organizes local health fairs, offers health awareness seminars, and supports local charities to promote wellness in underserved Korean communities. Additionally, AKAM mentors pre-medical and medical students and awards scholarships to nurture future Korean-American physicians. Through these efforts, AKAM serves the broader community and fosters a new generation of service-oriented physicians.

Welcome to AKAM
It is hard to believe that almost thirty years have passed since we first gathered at Korea Palace restaurant on Park Avenue to start our organization in 1995. At the time, the majority of Korean physicians in US were first-generation physicians who had graduated from medical schools in Korea. Those who received their medical degrees in the US were in the minority and lacked an alumni association to represent them at the national level. So AKAM was originally started as a regional organization to represent Korean American physicians in the North East who had graduated from US medical schools…..
